Or it can have more menial side quests only be available in the initial/middle part of the game and, from a certain point onward, they become unavailable & the only side quests you can do tie directly into the mainline story, giving the feeling of importance and progress toward saving the world

A story can be comprised of “smaller cataclysms” that are somewhat or fully solved and then allow you to go back to exploring, before entering the final “point of no return until the end of the game” and fighting the “big endgame cataclysm”

Then, at a certain point in the story, give the player a warning detailing that side quests and exploration will be unavailable

This could be for a short period o time or for the remainder of the game

A good way is the “you won’t be able to return after this point” approach

Basically, pace the story in such a way that it allows for exploration and side quests when the situation isn’t too dire

Estive numa palestra de um dos devs do jogo e a maneira como eles chegaram ao produto final reflete bem o caos organizado que sentimos durante o jogo

Aquilo começou com a intenção de ter uma abordagem diferente das mecânicas que o Scribblenauts introduziu e acabou no que agora chamamos Cryptmaster😂

Mostly systems and gameplay mechanics

80% of what I do is prototyping and validating 😅

Player & enemy NPC mechanics, level design mechanics (example is a level I designed where given some inputs the level would rotate), progression, UI/UX systems,…..

I have a few personal and college game projects where I’m mostly the Gameplay Programmer and/or Technical Game Designer (with lots of work on other parts that aren’t really my area of focus)

Nothing specific like Weapons Designer tho, it’s all more generalised

I’ll see whether I still apply or not
