I feel like Miqo'te are more similar to Aasimar in terms of the niche they fit into. A race visually similar to but mechanically and physically distinct from humans that is generally well liked despite their bad apples, if a bit eccentric at times.
Kind of like how Au'ra are like tieflings.

Why won't the nuke
