So pleased w this #WEG-inspired #StarWarsRPG commission for feyyro on sw twt, great client to work with!

He has boots with spat-like covers (not unlike the first action figure for Kyle Katarn), and he has one leg up, bent at the knee, foot on the wall behind him. He is pulling open his jacket and reaching for something unseen from inside it. Character is drawn in a high-contrast, shadow-heavy style with halftone shading/rendering in homage to the B&W artwork of West End Games Star Wars RPG! This artwork was a commission for client Feyyro's RPG character, Tromos — a Givin infochant! My signature is dated 9-24-23, the date I finished the piece

Artwork by me, @Magna_Tolvan. Depicts a Star Wars OC named Jaqoti D’lye, a wild-eyed, short-haired — and hot — Zygerrian pirate slashing the air between you with an electro-whip. She has two earrings in her right ear, one in her left. Her toned midriff is bare and her right arm is cybernetic. The whip crackles with stylized arcs of electricity, which lights the scene in high-contrast black and white. (The black is actually a very dark purple-brown to convey a sense of old comicbook inks not being fully black on yellowing pages). Her chest wrap is inspired by the one Vi wears in Arcane S2, and the composition overall is specifically an homage to artwork by Cynthia Martin — a classic Marvel Star Wars panel of Lumiya wielding her light-whip, from Star Wars #96 “Duel with a Dark Lady”

With my finally having secured a genuine #Labubu irl — whom I’m named Pinko, pictured — and with a Labubu having hijacked my Shiptember starship, it was high time I statted out the Labubu species for WEG’s #StarWarsRPG / #SWD6 !

Special Abilities & Story Factors:

Cute or Creepy: Labubus elicit a wide range of reactions when encountered in the wild. Many find their devilish appearance charming, while others—often religious fanatics—are frightened by what they consider "demonic" qualities. In game terms, Labubu gain either a +1D bonus to Persuasion or Intimidation checks, depending upon whether their target finds them cute or creepy.

Diminutive: Labubus are roughly the size of a tooka or lothcat and can be just as elusive. Human-sized characters incur a +1D penalty to the difficulty of their attempts to shoot, strike or catch/grapple Labubus in combat.

Tall Sensitive Ears: Due to their physiology, Labubu gain a +2 bonus to hearing-based Perception and search checks.

Labubu RPG stats (2/3) by me:
Tenacious Climbers: Labubu are often seen swinging perilously from grappling hooks, still smiling all the while. Due to their clawed feet and forest upbringing, Labubu may reroll any failed climbing check, but must accept the second result. In addition they may reduce the difficulty of using climbing gear by 1 level.

Toothy Bite: With a large smiling maw of exactly 9 sharp teeth, Labubu inflict STR+1D damage with their bite.

Tricksters: Many Labubus are mischievous—a trait that is encouraged in their culture. And though they call a forest world home, Labubus are also keenly adaptable to new environments and stimuli—which in turn allow them to develop more elaborate pranks and ruses. In game terms, Labubu receive 2D for every 1D they place in their con, hide, sneak, and survival skills. Please note: Their tricks are meant to be playful, not mean-spirited. Labubus are generally kind and wish to help.

Typical Labubu NPC: DEX 3D+1, KNO 1D, MEC 1D, PER 3D+2, STR 2D, TEC 1D

Background: Hailing from the forest planet Kasing, the Labubus are a species of stout furry elves with large round faces, wide grins, sharp teeth and tall pointed ears, with coats that come in a variety of colors and textures. Although elusive by nature, Labubus are also mischievous, and have been known to play harmless tricks on the spacers they encounter in their travels.

Most Labubus are female, save for their father-figure and leader Zimomo, distinguished by his more serious demeanor and spiked tail. And "Labubu" is in fact the name of a singular individual in the tribe, whose name has come to represent the species as a whole. The tribe calls itself simply "The Monsters" in their native tongue, but because Labubu herself was the one who successfully made first contact with larger galactic society, the good-natured species has allowed this confusion to persist as a way to honor her achievement.

Fun Facts: Labubu (the individual) is dating a shy but optimistic Givin called Tycoco. Some Labubus are fond of Coca-Cola, a carbonated beverage found on Batuu. Being "big into energy" is what Labubus call having Force Sensitivity.

HAPPY 40TH ANNIVERSARY, #DROIDS CARTOON!

I unironically love the show, so I was honored to create artwork for TeeKay-421's Droids/Ewoks issue! Here is my Droids homage to Marvel's #StarWars #1, featuring one of my favorite characters and SW's 1st Woman of Color in a prominent role, Jessica Meade!

Full color art by me! Homage to OG Marvel Star Wars #1 cover, w Droids cast instead of ANH, drawn in style evoking Nelvana, but cell-shaded & perhaps more "realistic." Jessica Meade, a striking black woman w flat-top wearing grey jumpsuit w dark red boots & belt, is front & center where Luke was on Marvel cover, palm (& miniature stunner) out. Worried C-3PO is above, where Leia was, hands by head. You can almost hear him saying "oh dear!" R2 looks heroic on right, where Kenobi was, w bendy body as on show. Vested bare-chested Jann Tosh is where Han was, holding helm & gazing purposefully off, in costume right out of the "The Warriors" movie. Pirate of Tarnoonga Kybo Ren looms overhead as giant head over starfield bg. Round astromech Choco is in "Marvel box" on upper L. Fake UPC barcode on lower L has date of completion, next to my art credit. Clockwise from top L, starships ring a blue of hyperspace tunnel energy! Ships are Corsalys, Dianoga, King's Ransom, & a Pirates of Tarnoonga TIE

Aesthetic of piece is informed both by classic horror and giallo.

OC #4: Formerly of Boushh‘s crew, #Otomo was an #Ubese swoop-racer whose stylish maneuvers became iconic in racing circles—his signature slide technique is imitated to this day. Yet Otomo stayed humble, retaining old sponsors & subsisting only on their comfort food

Artwork by me, of original character Otomo, an Ubese riding a swoop-bike and performing an "Akira slide" with the vehicle, though the viewer's angle is from the front rather than the more well-known side-view. Otomo's cape billows to indicate direction/momentum. His Ubese helmet has a vertical grill at its front, and his racing suit is quilted in vertical segments. 1138 appears on his helmet and his bike, not only continuing the famous reference to Lucas' film, but also bc it appears on Boushh's helmet, suggesting that perhaps the number has meaning for Boushh's crew in-universe. 1138 is also Otomo's racing ID number.
