I'm eager to work with my colleagues to pursue an ambitious agenda to bring more homes to every community across the state. With Oregon's economic outlook worsening, it's critical legislators get innovative and propose policies to help build more homes that don't rely on public resources. #orleg

I'm grateful for all who attended last week and shared their expertise on how we can make it easier and faster to build homes in Oregon - reforming building codes, zoning changes, supporting greater public financing options and fully funding inclusionary zoning programs, every change matters. #orleg

Building more homes for all income levels lowers rents for working families, opens new pathways to home ownership, helps eliminate homelessness, builds local tax bases, and ensures that our state can be home for anyone who wants to live here.

With cost of living in Oregon continuing to rise, it's critical that we as legislators tackle our housing affordability crisis by charting a path forward to build more homes for Oregonians of all ages, wages and stages of life.

For folks who want to honor Hoa’s legacy with a gift, Hoa’s family has asked that donations go to the David Douglas Educational Foundation in lieu of flowers.

Hoa, thank you for how much you gave to students, families, and everyone in your district and the state. Our state is stronger because of your leadership, and you will be so deeply missed.

Some people might not know this about Hoa, but she was a power weightlifter, and she was such a strong badass legislator–inside and out. Even when cancer took away her physical strength, I saw her fierce courage and determination continue shining.

She was open, warm, and friendly to almost everyone–but also had a steely toughness underneath, which I got to see up close in working with her as she campaigned again in 2024 for re-election.

She championed both the Bike Bus Bill and the Pacific Islander Student Success Act, guiding both bills to be signed by the governor into law.
