Last night, Colorado lost Faith Winter, an incredibly empathetic leader who lived her values out loud every day. My heart breaks for her family and community.

Big news today for the #Broncos and for our community. Here’s my take — what’s yours?
I am excited that the Broncos have reaffirmed their commitment to staying in Denver by naming Burnham Yard as their preferred site to build a new stadium! Their intention to engage in a community benefits agreement process is a particular point of pride for the future of our community. Back in 2022, I amended the proposed statute regarding the sale and development of Burnham Yard to ensure that the registered neighborhood organizations in La Alma/Lincoln Park, Baker, Sun Valley, and disproportionately impacted communities be at the table as these development plans begin, and not as an afterthought. I am glad that the Broncos recognize the importance of that engagement with the community. I know that there are many questions ahead, and to that end, I hope you reach out and share your thoughts, concerns and ideas! I will continue to work to ensure that resident voices are heard and respected as we embark in this important process. I found myself in Montgomery, AL for today’s #NoKings rally — many said it was the largest protest they’d seen in years. A Chicana, born and raised in Pueblo, who’d moved to Alabama for work, said: “Don’t forget about us just because we’re in a red state.” Yes, ma’am! It’s gonna take all of us. ❤️✊🏽

To my Jewish friends and community members, I grieve alongside you. My heart breaks and breaks for everyone impacted by this senseless act of terrible hate. Targeting ANYONE for being who they are and expressing their beliefs is vile, wrong, and unacceptable. I’ve long drawn inspiration from the concept pf In Lak’ech: You are my other me. / If I do harm to you, I do harm to myself. / If I love and respect you, I love and respect myself. The violence must end. May we heal, united by both grief and our shared commitment to empathy and peace. -j.
