I don't know about the work visa stuff, but expect it'll be OK if you tell them you don't intend to work here. Just keep your paperwork handy, have paper boarding passes, itinerary, the address & contact of where you plan to stay etc. Clean your phone of any "bad" images & politically charged apps.

It's a bully's technique, to say something loud and crazy to wrong-foot another person, make them respond. There's nothing behind it, just a bully poking someone. If he doesn't get a response after a few pokes he'll lose interest again. It's despicable and all that, but this is where we are now.

The one in the middle is the exact model of television I had, before my brother borrowed it to take to college and during a party it got thrown out of an upper story dorm window in Lubbock, Texas

Hi Snuffy, Bluesky has been improving its procedures for getting rid of imposters and handle-squatters. You might be able to get @snuffy(dot)bsky(dot)social, which looks like a handle-squatter, broken loose. bsky.app/profile/safe...
2/ We are working behind the scenes to help many organizations and high-profile individuals set up their verified domain handles. In the meantime, we’ve updated our impersonation policy to be more aggressive. Impersonation and handle-squatting accounts will be removed.

The best modern treatment of the Greek myths is by Robert Graves ("The Greek Myths"). It's beautifully written but you can ignore the interpretive sections and footnotes which are full of Graves' crazy theories about a universal mother goddess religion and other stuff that turned out not to be true

The longest known crib-notes to Greek Mythology is a book called the Biblioteca ('The Library') by Apollodorus of of Athens, a pseudonym. It's a very terse recounting of the most common versions of the myths at around 100 AD. Its Wiki entry links to an online translation at The Internet Archive.

When I started my account a year ago the first thing I saw were *so many furries*. I figured right then that the furries know what's up and this place had a future.

I have no objection to blocklists, but I don’t use them. I prefer to block accounts that actually annoy me personally, rather than preventively. But some people have reason to fear a brigade of hostiles filling their threads with garbage, and the block list is useful in that case.

Hope the plot involves an attempt to steal a gigantic golden coin with a B on it, but then it slips out of their hands and rolls down the hill gaining speed as they frantically run to catch it - hilarity ensues

Sympathy. I'm doing my best to relax, disengage and not fixate on the moment by moment, which is fast changing and full of bad data and out-of-context information.
