Former RAN Adm Peter Briggs thinks we should switch AUKUS to getting the French SSN instead of US or UK. They are smaller, less powerful, but also cheaper, easier to build and crew, and can be realistically obtained in time. I agree. @abrgll.bsky.social

Facilities for storage of any nuclear waste generated are a needed safety feature of any shipyard used for nuclear subs.
This is where RAN secrecy shoots itself in the foot. They haven't explained where long term storage will occur, so people assume the worst. #AUKUS
