The sob/throb interpretation of this #AncientEgypt scene is getting old and kind of annoying 🙂

Here’s the famous scene from the Mastaba of Ty (5th Dynasty, #Saqqara) where a man carries a calf on his back and the calf’s mother gazes at the calf.

I always wanted to see how the statue of #Menkaure would look with paint restored. (There are still traces of original paint on his face). But alas, i couldn’t find any reconstructions so i finally made one myself.

Lets debunk a little popular lie. #Tutankhamun was indeed mummified with erect penis,however the one in the picture circulating on the web belongs not to the King, but to an 18th century Englishmen executed by hanging.Housed at Viktor Wynd museum in London.Second image is Tut’s.

This claim is basically total ignorant trash. Egyptian #hieroglyphs are a complex writing system, combining phonetic and symbolic functions to write an actual spoken language. Whereas emojis are primarily meant to fill in emotional cues otherwise missing from typed conversation.

Unlike what media might make you believe,#Anubis is not a dog or a jackal.He is a god often depicted with a canine head to emphasize his association with cemeteries and the funerary cult.But sometimes he’s depicted as a full human, like here(his name is written right next to him)
