Thank you for contacting me about funding bills for the federal government. I share your concern and appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.
As you may know, on Friday, March 14, 2025, the Senate passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund federal agencies until September 30, 2025. I voted against this harmful legislation. This Republican-drafted CR makes drastic cuts to critical programs that Vermonters rely on and gives unprecedented power to President Trump and Elon Musk to continue their reckless, illegal rampage. I could not support a bill that makes billions of dollars in cuts to funding for law enforcement, infrastructure development, disaster response and critical health research initiatives, and much more. This bill gives President Trump a blank check to inflict further punitive tariffs on American businesses, farmers, and families. It also allows Elon Musk to continue to cut federal funding on a whim and delete programs entirely without congressional approval or oversight.
While the potential impacts of a government shutdown are grave, it is equally wrong for Congressional Republicans to use what should be a bipartisan process to jeopardize Vermonters’ health, safety, and financial well-being, ceding Congress’s constitutional authority to Donald Trump in the process.
As you know, Democrats are in the minority in Congress. We don’t have the votes to defeat the President’s orders, and the Republican party refuses to stand up for the American people. But we must fight every day, and in every effective way we can. The Vermont Delegation—Bernie, Becca, and I—are united in our resistance. I will keep your thoughts in mind as I continue to fight President Trump’s unlawful actions, and Republican’s unwillingness to work across the aisle to support all Americans.

Most preschools are private. So, if this story isn't 100% made up, then 2 things are true:
1) This is not a government problem.
2) This guy's daughter brought her son to a Spanish speaking private school and demanded they all speak English all the time just for her kid.

This sentiment really annoys me because who is this for? Most people who hate Trump, myself included, sucked up our grievances with Hillary and voted for her. Same with Biden in 2020. It's just not enough.

First, it's funny to go through the comments and quotes of people with stutters explaining that's not how a stutter works.
Second, even if that was how stutters worked, maybe a past stutter returning in old age is an early sign that you shouldn't hold public office anymore.
