I also get angry because being part of a democracy is more than just voting for the right people and then going home, and someone who wants blood and the heads of their enemies either is going to act on that or is engaging in maladaptive daydreaming.

As a Native, I have a sense well-cultivated from spending my whole life dealing with Schrodinger's Racists to be able to detect when someone's hiding sadism behind a mask of indifferent calculation. Not all of the people who talk like this are- but enough.

Speaking of perspective: I see images like this passed hand to hand by people and it makes my teeth grit. This sort of thing's been popular for a while. It is taking fascist "meme propaganda" aesthetics and clumsily reworking them to be pro-liberal, and I think it is a massive moral failure.

If they invalidate teh 14th Amendment it is more likely to be a termination of SCOTUS's political relevance as it currently exists than a durable termination of the 14th Amendment.
