When ABC News ( Aust) can’t see past the economic orthodoxy we get this rubbish. There is no measure that says the economy is “crumbling.” Inflation up slightly, interest rates steady, (low ) unemployment steady (4.4%), house prices rocketing, non-essential spending rising.

Jim Chalmers adjusted long term economic targets in the 2023 Intergenerational report. Bravely he is overseeing an economy which will slow inexorably for 40 years. Popn growth is one issue, and all MPs are now lowering immigration and growth.

All the Treasury and RBA leaders have been quietly overseeing a long term decline in Australia’s GDP. Why? What’s wrong with growth? Why not allow the economy to grow at 4% or so. Grow the pie? Our Govts fail us. @albomp.bsky.social

They changed the way inflation was measured and got a 10% increase in inflation...then people think inflation is 10 percent higher than same time previously. @theguardian.com

I am still shaking my head that NSW allows Nazi march but fined people in environment March. The nSW police are the people who strip search kids.

RBA chokes growth by keeping interest rates high. It worries about non-existent inflation than says we might be trapped in slow growth for years! www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11... #releasetherates #auspol

I must have missed this in mainstream media.

Looks interesting. I was scanning science news on the new Connectsci web site and came across this peer reviewed research. 🧪

Epic fail. These 2 fillum stars turn up in Oz for a tour and discuss what they might visit: “there’s a place called Surfers Paradise, do you know it?” he asks.”nope never heard of it,” she says! All those billions in promotion and subsidies to international movie makers and fast cars bring…nada!

When will govt force RBA to take care of wage earners instead of rent seekers? From @crikey.com.au today…more totally avoidable pain and standard of living loss because RBA is worried only about inflation. The target should be lifted to 2-4% and economy and wages should get real growth. #auspol

I can’t recall a foreign ambassador ever writing such a public statement to an Australian govt…except the “14 points” note from China which caused a scandal. #ukraine

Good work AbC reporter Tom Maddocks covering protest by people who care for horses. As they say in the dreadful industry, he has “form” does Tom.

In what part of this godforsaken world would a former Liberal opposition leader mp who was found guilty of supply cocaine, and who lied about using it, and accused the Govt of a coverup, think he will get re-elected? #auspol
November 3, 2025 at 3:17 AM
Just another way to show that inflation is not an issue in Australia, and the RBA should be trying to create wealth by letting the economy run faster. To do that the Govt would have to reset the RBA goals. Poverty and unemployment is a choice, just like record profits. #auspol

And we can now start to speculate which 5 ABC staff (probably on air, but we can’t be certain) received $500k in annual salary. I don’t believe salaries in excess of $3-$400k are warranted for ABC presenters. There is no-where else for them to work, so market rates are irrelevant. #auspol

ABC senior executives receive no bonus payments this year. Not surprising of course….

Why does The Age mention the school of one of these vile perpetrators, and not the other two?

Would you trust the RBA to get the settings right to meet its inflation target? As the @australiainstitute.org.au says, it’s more wrong than right. But the govt still won’t change the rules. Grow the economy faster than the target guys. #auspol
