🌾🌍🌱🌿🌺Several plants in the Zingiberaceae (Ginger) family are edible. Underground stem (rhizome) of Zingiber officinale is used fresh or dried as the spice ginger. Originates in SE Asia, domesticated and selected for flavour. Exported to Europe for over 2000 years. #BUC2025

Hurricanes cause tremendous damage to forests, whether natural or plantations, but we know very little about what actually happens to trees during high winds (for obvious reasons). In our latest work we have the answer... 🧵👇🧪🌏 1/12

Omphalotus nidiformis is a bioluminescent mushroom from Australia. Although not native to Europe, they are available as brood online and quite easy to grow.
