I'm not certain the game actually matched the title, true, but at least it's like... made of actual words. And flows off the tongue well. And tells you "this is medieval fantasy".

the colon:subtitle in "Dragon Age: Origins" was obnoxious but at least "Dragon Age" was a good title

I also didn't think the game was very good either.
But jesus. Such an obvious "the marketing guys expect this to be a franchise" title. A colon:subtitle in the only existing game, a proper noun that means nothing to prospective players but is conveniently trademarkable... ughhhhh

I maintain that "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning" is still the worst video game title of all time

I always feel this is incomplete without its inverse, which also works far far better than it has any right to www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8ur...

The obnoxiously nitpicky "um actually" is to point out that Star Trek is technically post-apocalyptic but that's a pretty load-bearing "technically" and I'm already sorry. If you're looking at all for recommendations, Horizon Zero Dawn was hardly quiet but I thought it was positive and un-grim.

look i'm sympathetic to people choosing not to eat meat but it takes care and nutritional supplements to go fully plant-based, if you're in an emergency pioneer-on-a-new-world situation you're gonna need things like chickens or risk everyone starving without a modern industrial base

the idea that absolutely no one smuggled a viable breeding pair of extremely common pets like cats or dogs onto the evacuation flotilla even if they were somehow not part of the official plan...

do we not? how do you say it? i've never heard any other way of saying it

“The air is escaping” is obvious of course, but you can also invent various reasons for something breaking to emit toxic fumes into the air, the way the ISS uses ammonia for coolant?

i guess if doug ford had been like "my platform is to build the nuclear power plants and then watch TV for the rest of my term" i could've been convinced yeah

i mean i do tend to cite my mike harris grudge as a reason that i will never ever vote conservative under any forseeable circumstances, but you are also correct about this aspect
April 4, 2025 at 10:03 PM
idk how much i can judge this because i'm gonna be carrying a grudge against mike harris at least that long
