Dec 6, 1917 the quiet harbour of Halifax,Nova Scotia, turned into the site of one of the most powerful human-made explosions the world had seen as French munitions ship SS Mont-Blanc & Norwegian ship SS Imo collided flattening the city and leaving nearly 1,900 people dead & over 9,000 injured.

This Mi’kmaw chair panel was made by stitching together two pieces of birch bark with spruce root. One side was then decorated with a mosaic of white, red, black, orange, blue, lavender and pink aniline-dyed porcupine quills.

🇧🇲 Bermuda needs to be on alert however as Imelda will likely cause flash flooding and damaging waves from Wednesday into Thursday.
