When I shared with a library customer that I’m into ancient history, she brought in a prehistoric flint hand axe that came up when she was digging her vegetable garden. You can see the two-angled thumb rests they carved out next to my thumb. A thing of wonder!

My special curse as a gardener: if I see something trying to grow in a hopeless place, I try to save it. Mystery seedling in a pot being emptied? Repot it. Half-dead sycamore with a bit of bright green seedling inside? Put it in a pot & think what to do with it *handwaves* later. #gardening

After a very long time, I made it out into the garden this afternoon and planted: dwarf borlotti beans, cherry tomatoes, lavatera, gladioli, mini cucumbers, sweet peas, and am attempting to save ‘fingers’ off a ‘monkey fingers’ cactus that got knocked over by the cat!
