Sometimes, Friday nights are quiet. Sometimes you frantically scribble notes as you break a plot for an upcoming arc in the D&D game you're running, trying to get as much work done as possible because, God, it's been so long since this kind of inspiration struck.

Return the Black Hills to native people. Other places would also be good, don’t get me wrong, but there is so much mineral wealth in the Black Hills that deserves infinitely better stewardship and isn’t gonna get it as long as mining companies can just walk onto public land.

Return the Black Hills to native people. Other places would also be good, don’t get me wrong, but there is so much mineral wealth in the Black Hills that deserves infinitely better stewardship and isn’t gonna get it as long as mining companies can just walk onto public land.
That moment when you're in the process of breaking an idea for a new horror story and you're struggling to understand what the monstrous force you've concocted means until, at last, it hits you in the face like a 2x4 and you suddenly generate three whole pages of notes.

After listening to the new Mountain Goats record, I really hope more artists follow their lead and start including an Overture on their albums. Give me a taste of what's to come. Establish your motifs. I want something from that first track to come back later in the album and smack me in the face.

Here's another bit of conventional wisdom Zohran completely blew away: His speech was at well above a 10th-grade level. It was complex, erudite, punctuated by deep and fluent references. You don't have to condescend to voters with baby talk! Part of re-establishing norms is speaking like an adult.

It kind of just hit me that I've spent my year directing two shows that have meant the world to me for over a decade. What a wonderful job I have that I get to work on projects that hold so much meaning to me.

With the end of several months' worth of back to back production work rapidly approaching, the writer in my brain is starting to stir from his hibernation. Man, I can't wait to stretch that particular creative muscle again!

Now that I'm on the other side of opening weekend for Pippin, I can officially say that I have completed work on a total of four different shows since the first of August. I've been absolutely blessed with work of late, but my God, am I ready to get some rest!
