To be fair to yourself, Digital Foundry discussed how badly they've mangled the controls. The analog sensitivity is all messed up on SO version. :/

I have no idea how you could see Sakurai's wonderful breakdown of the game and then write it off as a simplistic game best relegated to young children (I've seen this a couple times at least).
