"Unscripted" TV librarian and media prepper. Extremely amateur word-liker. Many other unremarkable descriptors. I still have my Sega CD. Dormant English teacher.

Where two or more they go apace, / there, too, be Twitter in that place.

People who think they're smarter than they really are love Ai and are all in on it.

People who are actual experts in the fields of economics and computer science want no part of it.

"Things happen" sometimes, like when you walk into an embassy to apply for your marriage license while your bride-to-be waits outside, but then you get bonesawed to pieces for having exercised freedom of speech as an US-based journalist and have to be carried out in a series of suitcases.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Thank you, MZS. I watched the first episode, and it was jaw-droppingly stupid and nauseatingly pandering.

I was digging through 4K screenshots of various movies, and my jaw hit the floor at this shot of Melinda Dillon reflected in the mirror looking perfectly alien with her elongated neck, odd angle, and oversized head. I've seen CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND countless times and never noticed this.

Bad AI supplanting human expertise is an issue that transcends any one field, but man—not many people on earth whose knowledge and dedication deserves respect like LIBRARIANS.
The long-running ideological war on libraries, education, and government workers is not separate from AI boosterism. It is the same ideological war on human knowledge and expertise. In some cases AI is being used to directly supercharge this effort:
