O-STEAM took to the sea today on the Zephyr to learn oceanographic sampling techniques and turned to the lab to learn about dolphin vocalizations. Fellows analyzed spectrograms or graphs of sounds, to identify individuals in the Sarasota dolphin population. @whoi.edu

This winter, our marine team ran experiments in two towns—Mashpee and Falmouth—to explore how well sugar kelp grows in shallow waters around Cape Cod, an ongoing collaboration with local shellfish departments and farmers. https://seagrant.whoi.edu/culturing-kelp-on-cape-cod/ @whoi.edu
