It brings me a great deal of pleasure that the IG has not bent to the Department/Secretary of War bullshit

God, she's such a sloppy flirt. Meanwhile, this guy: 😄

This is one of my all time favorite XKCDs.

For anyone who's worked as a product manager / owner, it just cuts so close to home.

Aced, I tell you.

I was pleased to read footnote 3.

I find I have use for the floating hyphen quite frequently and I smile a little inside whenever I get to deploy it.

What still seems really weird to me as well (though I havent read everything yet) is this:

GJ found probable cause on 2 out of 3 on the original indictment, but the version delivered to the Court says they did not find PC on *any* of the three.

And it seems the numeric suffix is supposed to indicate the class of vehicle.

But the description of the driving doesnt make me think 24k GVW diesel.

Even if you stipulate that this decision is right, this seems like an absolutely *wildly* general way to write the QI sentence:

So, a responding officer could walk up to a 12 year old kidnapping victim and beat the shit out of him *himself* and he'd get QI until some court decided that went to far?

I remember seeing it at the time, but I still can't get over the absolutely base pettiness these guys cheapen *everything* with even as they crow about how they supposedly want to return to when America was "serious" and "respected."

Also, WTF is this?

In what sense do "global elites" control prediction markets? Anyone can bet on Polymarket, PredictIt, etc.

And in what sense is a prediction market controlled by the POTUS's company *not* controlled by a global elite?

Why is the hike at higher income so disproportionate? Is there more going on there than the 400% cliff?

What I've seen published in Maryland shows some hike at 401% (at least for family of 4; curiously not for an individual), but nothing like that:

TSLA valuation is f-ing absurd.

On the left, GM valued at $64B.
On the right, TSLA, valued at $1.5T

Absolutely wild for the WaPo to write these two sentences in their Editorial defending the ballroom without disclosing that Amazon is one of the funders.

Talk about conflicts of interest! Jesus.

Trump: "Neoclassical architecture is my passion."
October 24, 2025 at 8:44 PM
I know. That's what I was reacting to. Their summary of it makes it sound like Truman just unilaterally decided to overhaul the White House (a la Trump with the East Wing).

Nothing could be further from the truth. The White House was deemed unsafe to occupy and gutting / rebuilding was mandatory.

Hmmm. 27 + 31 + 29 + 20 = 107

Sounds suspiously like they arrived at 115 mostly by just adding monthly numbers.

Among other things, what could *possibly* be more in the public's interest to know than "how the state entices companies to invest here."

Who would say this to a reporter? Did Chotiner write this piece?

This is wild to read.

<Goose meme>"What kind of circumstance happened on January 6th?"

Boy, do i ever remember this. Rock up on campus and suddenly you have a 3 figure credit line with no income before you've finished moving into your dorm.

Lost this guy 6 months ago. Miss him all the time.

Can you expand on this? If they articulate some fed. law, what prevents it? I believe you, but I'm unclear what limits them.

Does "regular forces" encompass local law enforcement so the argument against is that if local LE could maintain order, federalized NG deployment is blocked?
