The importance of these grants—and the critical role they play in empowering individuals to pursue innovative research—has never been more apparent. Many dance researchers are facing challenges, with cuts to dance programs in Higher Education impacting their work.

Named after Ivor Guest (1929-2018), whose work on ballet history transformed the study of dance, these grants are open to all, with a special focus on encouraging applications from underrepresented groups.

Thanks to Ivor Guest’s bequest, we have supported 19 projects over four years.
