19. Medal of Honor (PS1)

Solid WWII FPS, and as long as you use control scheme 4 (modern dual-stick controls), I think it's aged quite nicely. Although the fog is rough at times, this is a great looking game for the PS1. And THE OST bro, it goes very hard. Love the tone this game sets.

17. Dragon Ruins (PC)

This is a short auto-battler dungeon crawler that some folks made in a game jam so this was a short and sweet game for me. The vibes are peak. I did a few runs and had some good fun. This is a perfect game to play in Discord while shooting the shit with the homies.

16. Kirby’s Dream Land 2 (GB)

Kirby is cute and all but this game isn’t for me. Not unfun, but not particularly fun either. I don’t really like how Kirby games handle secrets and completion, the gameplay doesn’t hook me enough to want to replay levels to try new things. I still got true ending tho.

I forgot about PC-10, what a terrible choice! I totally get it, put a new game out there to get eyes on in, sure. Just a very weird pick to put in an arcade cabinet. Even though other PC-10 games were mostly the same as they were on console, they at least lent themselves better in an arcade setting.

Exactly the strategy I went with, I actually found Jeff the easiest to work with and got that high score on my first try. Will give it another go soon, gotta reclaim that top spot 💯

15. RetroDotCards (GBA)

The concept of new GBA e-Reader cards in 2025 is a wild thing, and I’m so impressed at how @retrodotcards.com make these paper cards come to life on my GBA. This release was unironically my most anticipated game(s) of the year, and I wasn’t disappointed.

Thank you @retrodotcards.com for the experience. I’m inspired by your journey in making these, programming games and printing them on paper cards for the e-Reader is insane on its own but you went so above and beyond on the presentation.

Cheers to you, I’m looking forward to a potential Series 2 🍻

I had a lot of fun going through every game, getting all of the achievements, getting high scores on the Exo Attack leaderboard, and discovering various secrets. I actually got my latest Exo Attack Vick high score using a secret character that’s detailed in the game’s digital manual 🕵️

The presentation is so so good, between the cards themselves, the games, and the website which has leaderboards for Exo Attack, details about games and their secrets, and very charming digital manuals for each game.

A RetroDotCard pack comes with 9 cards which contain 5 games and one achievement tracker. The games themselves aren’t anything you haven’t seen before, but what makes RetroDotCards special is the novel form factor and the presentation that exudes the passion of all who contributed to their creation.
