I remember excitedly buying the Thieves Like Us 12'' before I'd heard it on the radio. But when I listened to it, I thought 'WTF is this rubbish?" Never liked it, thought it was substandard to everything they'd done to date. They redeemed themselves with Low-Life, which was by far their best work.

Unlikely, unless you tone down your rhetoric and policies to appeal to the centre ground, but in an age where social media amplifies the extreme, it's hard to get the traction because your message doesn't cut through.

...a bad thing, but Reform also used racist dog whistles to suck some left wing support away from Labour. In a FPTP system, setting up a party like this only benefits your opposition unless you can get an overwhelming momentum behind you and co-opt the bulk of the party you are trying to supplant.

Absolutely, and knowing what your red lines are and where you are prepared to compromise a little. After all, no one is perfect, but that doesn't mean they have to be a prat about it.
