The bubble is already bigger than the GDP of the entire United States, giving them a bailout would mean printing so much money that the dollar would no longer be worth the paper it's printed on, and they still wouldn't be whole because they'd be getting what is essentially Monopoly money

It's desperation, they're running out of ways to further expand their profit margins with the tools they currently have. They need a huge paradigm shift or they're going to stagnate in a system that equates stagnation with death. The same can be said for pretty much the entire economy at this point
