Ahead of the #NoKings protests, it’s worth remembering that America’s defiance of monarchy began with words.

In 1777, George Washington wrote “The Manifesto of America,” declaring that the nation’s “common principle” was defiance of tyranny.

George Washington wrote thoughts on it that year, too!

Autism has been studied for more than a century, long before Tylenol ever hit store shelves. One example appears in this 1921 article, where Dr. Stewart Paton of Princeton described “autistic thinking” as one of two types of…

Donald #Trump’s 1987 claim that the Soviets courted him for Moscow luxury may explain why he’s still chasing Russia’s approval after never getting it.

As @briantylercohen.bsky.social points out, Mike Johnson and republicans are okay wasting taxpayer dollars to try to protect their boss because he may be included in files of his pedophile friend that he’d said for years he would release.

…also know as “Tuesday” in the #Trump administration.

Well this March 2010 South Florida Sun Sentinel article on the #Epstein journal has quite a bit of interesting information about the now non-existent list.

A 2024 article reports #Trump flew on Epstein’s planes at least 8 times—mostly to/from Teterboro, NJ, the same airport where #Epstein was later arrested on sex-trafficking charges in 2019.
Flight logs confirm the trips.

In this 2009 article: In 2008, #Epstein got a plea deal to serve just 13 months in county jail (nights only) brokered with then U.S. attorney R. Alexander Acosta (Republican).

Victims were steered to settle for $150K each, Epstein denied liability.

THREAD: Jeffrey #Epstein and Donald #Trump Together in the Media

Over time I’ve looked at articles through my Newspapers subscription for coverage of these two.

I’m curious to further delve into my findings—but in the meantime, going to use this thread to just drop random things I’ve seen so far.

🥦On page 16 (Sec. 10102), the #BigBeautifulBill tightens SNAP — putting up to mil unemployed adults at risk of losing food assistance if they don’t meet stricter work requirements.

Note (pgs. 392–393): The bill also redefines “low‑income communities,” stripping resources from 30–60 million people.
July 3, 2025 at 6:11 PM
On pages 392–393, the #BigBeautifulBill redefines “low-income community” as having a median family income ≤ 70% of the area median from 80%, disqualifying many from:

🏘️ Housing tax credits
🏙️ Community development grants
💼 Small business support
🏫 Education & school funding
🧭 Investment incentives

More great people in Indiana’s government.

First it was Senator Jim Banks telling a laid of HHS worker that he probably deserved to get fired because he “looks like a clown.”

And then this jab at the LGBTQ+ community from Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita.

It’s been over 24 hours and Senator Cory Booker is still going strong and passionate.

Good trouble.

Thank you @booker.senate.gov.

I have not paid attention to any news today. I have just been listening to this filibuster. I hope our Republican friends can get inspiration from this too.
April 2, 2025 at 12:03 AM
Anyone that watches @booker.senate.gov speaking can’t say this is an attack and waste of time by liberals and democrats. It is the truth.

Republicans need to join Senator Cory Booker, their democrat colleagues and the American people for the American people.

Not Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
April 1, 2025 at 6:30 PM
He is still going strong — @booker.senate.gov telling his Republican colleagues what dismantling the Dept. of Higher Ed means, what they can expect in their areas, etc., and how rural schools in particular will take a hit.
April 1, 2025 at 7:21 AM
Finishing out my birthday with Senator Booker, who just read Musk’s response to Joe Rogan asking why social security is a Ponzi scheme. Including all the uhs & ums. And now Booker is reminding everyone that it is something people paid into. Going strong. Good trouble @booker.senate.gov — thank you 🎉

For nearly a century, public research in the US has driven technological breakthroughs, ranging from medical treatments and climate-resilient crops to weather forecasting and the Internet. Each of these innovations was made possible by sustained public investment.

We are only nine weeks into this administration, and there’s already enough chaos to fill a book.

I got something recently that lights a fire under my ass when my flame starts to dim: this fidget ring.

It says, “keep fucking going.”

So when the going gets tough—just remember: keep fucking going.

So in non-Donald Trump, Elon Musk or Chuck Schumer news…. This was an interesting sight to see earlier. I need to finish editing to make them better but here’s what I took of the Blood Moon tonight.
