now that deltarune chapters 3-4 are nearly out, I've been rereading the original novels. they're surprisingly close to the games, here's Noelle from book 2
old book with an illustration of Noelle Holiday seated by a window, with the following text: IX. THE MIDNIGHT FERRIS WHEEL NO sooner had Ralsei spoken than Noelle appeared clear in their mind, sitting on a fine four poster bed, shrouded by white wool curtains. Before her was a window, and because the moon was so very full and bright Kris could see her expression quite clearly. She was in awe, any fear long having left her, for the sight before her left no room for anything but wonder. “What a strange moon!” she cried, though no one else was there. “It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before!” Then at last her wonder gave way to fear, for as great as the Dark World was, it was equally terrible, and now she was quite alone in it. “I wish Dess could see this,” she said.
