If the Venezuelan sailors were enemy combatants, then the 2nd strike is a war crime.

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.

Word for the decade… “uninhabitable”.
This Atlantic piece significantly underestimates the magnitude of discontinuity around us.

It treats as futures to be avoided realities that are already unfolding now.

I suspect largely because it absolutely sucks to acknowledge we lost the Orderly Transition.

What Climate Change Will Do to America by Mid-Century
Many places may become uninhabitable. Many people may be on their own.

Really interesting analysis of the social equity “fail” in the abundance movement.
There's lots to be said for the "abundance" movement but it says too little about distressed places.

Interesting take from @timbartik.bsky.social

Chicago ICE raid pulls children from their beds. Is this who we are as a nation now?
According to eyewitnesses, armed ICE agents dragged kids out of their beds in the middle of the night, zip tied them and put them in rented vans while raiding an * entire apartment building* on the South Side of Chicago.

What I would give for a completely honest, anonymous assessment of this appalling and ludicrous spectacle from the commanders in the room.

AOC: I think there's two things that are happening at once: One, there absolutely is an unprecedented abuse of power, destruction of norms, erosion of our government and our democracy in order to prop up an authoritarian style of governance

However, they are weaker than they look…

Financial inequality is breaking our democracy.
The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion, after getting $1.2 trillion richer over the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is getting squeezed by tariffs and high prices for groceries, utilities, and health care.

The system is broken.

The GOP is shrinkingggg! @berlin-nh-dems.bsky.social
James Walkinshaw’s win in Virginia isn’t just another Democratic special election win. It shrinks the GOP’s already thin majority in the House 👏 Combine that with a boost for Abigail Spanberger, Republicans cornered on Epstein, and another legal blow for Trump, and you’ve got wins worth celebrating.
Our Wins Of The Week
On Tuesday, in the latest Democratic special election victory, Democrat James Walkinshaw easily won the race to succeed Democrat Gerry Connolly for Virginia’s 11th Congressional seat.

A class war?
…is the day when things will truly start to change.

We need the Epstein list to seek justice for the survivors.

We need it for ourselves to believe things like truth, fairness and justice still exist.

America needs it for a class war long overdue.

“This painting is on a long list of artworks under attack by the administration to be removed from museums as immoral and anti-American. They might even call it, "Degenerate Art."”
