I’ve been handed the #f1 script for this weekend.

Oscar takes out Lando in T1 as an FU to Zach Brown for his horrible mismanagement. Max wins again.

Oscar sacked, Lewis back to McLaren for one last ride where it started. LH44 wins 9th* WDC next yr in send off. Zach still sucks, Oscar still robbed

Fitting that we have a Pedo President, I guess.

It would be fantastic if this made it to trial, where Jack Smith could just submit his investigation and the underlying evidence as a defense
LOL. Trump has launched an investigation into Jack Smith for Hatch Act violations. As a reminder, the penalties for violating the Hatch Act are 1. Removal from federal service, 2. Demotion, 3. Suspension. OH NOOOOOO! www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...
Office of Special Counsel launches investigation into ex-Trump prosecutor Jack Smith
The investigation comes after GOP Sen. Tom Cotton requested that Smith be investigated for “unprecedented interference in the 2024 election.”

No other way to slice it: this is incredibly fucked up.

Australia is a net exporter of beef (and the US is it's largest customer!).

The US is a net importer of beef.

US Beef prices are also at record highs.

Let me know if you need help putting the pieces together here.
Trump falsely claims that U.S. beef had been banned in Australia and he’s changed that.

American ranchers can just get a higher price in the U.S. so they don’t sell much to Australia. The U.S. sold about $2.5 million of beef to Australia last year, according to the Australian Financial Review.

Astronomer CEO caught having an affair with his head of HR is bad enough on a personal level... but I'm mostly thinking about how difficult it will be for him to rebuild trust within his company now that all the employees know that he likes Coldplay.

Of all the ways I’ve learned about companies for the first time this week, I’m going to rank “strange Cod filet offering” over “CEO publicly caught having an affair with head of HR” in terms of what’s best for the business

The use of em dashes is not so much a sign of my use of AI... it's more so a sign of your lack of couth.

You're probably the kind who would write "LOL" in your college term papers.

if you took a dementia test and thought it was an IQ test you failed both the dementia test and the IQ test
Trump: "AOC -- look. I think she's very nice. But she's very low IQ, and we really don't need low IQ. Between her and Crockett, we're gonna give 'em both an IQ test to see who comes out best. I took a real test at Walter Reed medical center and I aced it. Now it's time for them to take a test."

One day my grandchildren will ask me about how the Great War between the US and the Private AI Paramilitary Force ("X-Force", probably) started...

And I'll be forced to explain how two guys started tweeting mean things at each other... and then I'll be forced to explain Twitter and... ugh.

Didn't we all know this already though? I guess it's possible some of Trump's supporters may have been in denial about it... but those who were are likely to remain so.

Will be interesting to see which Cult of Personality carries more weight, given the cults' overlapping membership.
Musk says Trump is in the Epstein files and it is being covered up. This escalated quickly.

Syphallis brain rot could be studied, if not for the fact they cut all the medical research funding
This exchange is so very telling.

Trump repeatedly claims the photoshopped MS-13 on Kilmar Abrego Garcia's knuckles is real, Terry Moran keeps telling him it isn't, prompting Trump to say this:

"I never heard of you. I picked you. You’re not being very nice. He had MS-13 tattooed... Just say yes!"

Well golly, a darn shame John Roberts could not have seen the entirely predictable consequences of his judicial actions (or lack thereof).

People like Roberts, Collins, Murkowski, etc all keep giving Trump the runway to do the right thing, seemingly flabbergasted when he doesn’t
This is basically conceding that the executive branch is sentencing random people to death with no due process or ability to reverse an error
UPDATE: Trump seems to say for the first time that U.S. lacks ability to recover those sent to El Salvador if government deports someone erroneously. Says it’s totally up to Bukele. Seems to leave out that he could … ask Bukele to help fix an error. www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

I'm not buying it.

No one will convince me that Dire Wolves were ever a real thing and this isn't some bullshit story to promote the next Game of Thrones spin off.

What's next "Scientists has brought back Ice Dragons"?

As I’ve been saying…
Rand Paul: "The whole [tariffs] debate is so fundamentally backwards & upside down. It's based on a fallacy & the fallacy is this: that somehow in a trade, someone must lose. That somehow when you trade with someone, someone is taking advantage of you... I have a trade deficit with my grocery store"

The risks of this tariff war are incredibly asymmetric. If we "win" perhaps we can convince Vietnam to eliminate its tariffs, but that only reduces them from 1.1% to 0%. While we wait, China is retaliating with a 34% tariff.

We stand to win very little, but lose a lot.

When you start with the premise that trade deficits are inherently bad, it’s easy to understand… that these people are simply economically illiterate.

OMG. I was wondering that as the tariff numbers made no sense, but this is even dumber than I thought. I mean, this is "fail your econ 101 class and have to go meet with the professor" bad.
james surowiecki has discovered where the completely fabricated trump tariff rate has come from for each country

"...for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us."
