Eww... Don't wanna.

Hi-de-hi.
November 12, 2025 at 6:17 AM
That's something at least!
November 11, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Oh he's not thirst material, sadly. He's a bit old for my tastes (probably ~70).
November 11, 2025 at 9:55 PM
Oh I'm surprised you had mould difficulty at that temperature.

But yes, ugh, remember when gas was cheap??
November 11, 2025 at 9:51 PM
Oh god even I'd forgotten about that! I'm not good at this whole homeowning business.
November 11, 2025 at 9:18 PM
How cold was your house? We fortunately seem to be quite mould-free so far.
November 11, 2025 at 9:08 PM
It's a system boiler so the pump is separate. But yeah, we do get that downstairs. The heating engineer said the water is also returning to the boiler too hot, which is a sign that it's not making it through the radiators properly...?
November 11, 2025 at 9:07 PM
You can be warm on holiday.
November 11, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Yeah we'd like to get one at some point but it's a little down the priority list at the moment. At the rate we're getting through our house jobs, we'll be buying one in about 2075.
November 11, 2025 at 9:04 PM
You saw my post about today's dinner then.
November 11, 2025 at 9:03 PM
A chicken and chorizo rice dish. I think the rice was shite: 40 min cooking and it was partly under and partly over.
November 11, 2025 at 8:43 PM
I might be tapping up the heating engineers of Bluesky hour advice...
November 11, 2025 at 8:28 PM
It's a relatively new boiler but it doesn't do a great job at getting the whole house hot.

Apparently the pump is underpowered.
November 11, 2025 at 8:27 PM
Ah yes, that's more my style.
November 11, 2025 at 8:19 PM
It seems logical but it's not my area of expertise.
November 11, 2025 at 8:17 PM
I like your decisiveness.
November 11, 2025 at 7:48 PM
Are you telling me you'd do me a heat pump for that money?
November 11, 2025 at 7:32 PM
A heat pump for £770?! That would be a bargain.
November 11, 2025 at 7:29 PM
Oh literally nothing exciting. A more powerful pump 😂.
November 11, 2025 at 7:23 PM
Mostly upgrading the pump to a more powerful one. Apparently the current one isn't strong enough to get the hot water round the system properly.

Plus a chemical flush and replacing a valve that's apparently just the wrong type.
November 11, 2025 at 7:22 PM
I don't know what your toilet is like (obviously) but I felt like I need an engineering degree just to understand how to go about starting to remove the old one.
November 11, 2025 at 7:10 PM
I didn't specify how much of the year I'm a good boy for...
