With a couple hundred people in Gore Park in #HamOnt for the Draw the Line protest, as many thousands more do the same in 65+ other communities, demanding that Canada put people before profit, uphold Indigenous sovereignty, stop blaming migrants, end the war machine, and end the era of fossil fuels.

Just recorded an interview for *Vital Signs*, the #HamOnt Community Foundation's TV show. I talked about my new book *Listen! Knowing the World and Fighting to Change It* (out Oct. 21), my earlier social movement oral history work, and social movements in general. It broadcasts in a week or two!

Really appreciating, as I stand with 50-75 others at today’s climate rally in #HamOnt, the way in which a commitment to climate *justice* and the interconnection of our many different struggles has become much more of an “of course” thing for many in local contexts.

From what I've seen via email, there's a screening of *Yintah* at 12:30pm Friday at McMaster (MDCL 3020), a bus from campus to Gore Park at 3pm, and this rally at 3:30pm.

Climate may have fallen out of mainstream attention, but the crisis is still intensifying. So attend if you can!

15. A victory for the anti-war movement as, after a year of escalating pressure from Ontario Teachers Pension Plan members, the pension has divested from 2 of the 5 major weapons firms in which it had an ownership stake. #MovementWins2025

At the #HamOnt launch for *Deyohahá:ge: Sharing the River of Life*, by members of Six Nations and their neighbours, about the Two Row Wampum, its history, and how it might be a basis for restoring good relations in the future. Sounds like it’s full of thoughtful, important stuff!

Can anyone recommend any writing that thoughtfully engages with Vincent Bevins' *If We Burn: The Mass Protest Decade and the Missing Revolution*, especially from an anti-authoritarian and/or movement-building perspective?

As someone well into middle-age whose involvement has mainly migrated to movement infrastructure and media work, burnout doesn't loom for me in the same the way it did when I was in my 20s, but this event tonight at McMaster University still looks like it's going to be really interesting.
