Good week in Bahrain. Pleasure and a privilege to see #F1 this up close and try to turn that access and opportunity into worthwhile insight. Next stop: Australia!

Early trackside impressions not to be read into too much beyond building an initial reference point for the week. I liked how the Red Bull looked, strong front end, especially being on a harder compound. Hamilton experimenting a little in the Ferrari, which looked good but not quite as consistent.

I’ve left food for Mrs Mitchell-Malm and our son, I’m on my way to Bahrain, and I’m rejoicing at having an empty seat next to me on the plane. Must mean #F1 is back!

What do you want to know from testing?

Some shots of the actual Williams FW47 now, in its one-off shakedown livery, from the launch live stream.

An early look at the one-off Williams livery showcasing new title sponsor Atlassian although that's on an older car. The 2025 car will be revealed shortly. You can hear it in the background of the launch stream warming up ready for its shakedown.

McLaren’s dropped the first #F1 car reveal of 2025 with a special camouflage livery for a Silverstone shakedown.

Clever getaround as the real liveries have to be saved for next week’s F1 75 event with all 10 teams.

Williams is doing the same tomorrow - one-off livery on its actual 2025 car.

Williams has a new #F1 title sponsor, technology partner and collaboration software partner in Atlassian.

It’s called “the biggest partnership deal” in Williams’s history. Team will officially be entered as Atlassian Williams Racing.

James Vowles says it will help modernise team’s way of working.

Pictures from Ferrari of day two at Barcelona. Obviously before Hamilton crashed. According to reports in Italy, the shunt meant Leclerc didn’t get on track as visibility was poor by the time the car was repaired. Hamilton/Leclerc work over. Giovinazzi and Beganovic (fun!) drive on Thursday.

You always knew the first Lewis Hamilton/Ferrari image would be punchy. Here’s what to expect from his first few days at his new #F1 team including test plans: www.the-race.com/formula-1/wh...

#F1 story time with Oskar. Much better storytelling at our live shows this week. More consistent audio quality too hopefully. Oskar didn’t want you to hear the crucial info: London on Thursday January 16 and Birmingham on Friday January 17. Hope to see you there! www.the-race.com/formula-1/th...

Lewis Hamilton’s big farewell event with Mercedes partner Petronas went down well in Malaysia. 1000+ staff attended, then there was an event with more than 3000 fans.

First 'look' at what General Motors has in mind for "Cadillac Formula 1".

Mario Andretti will serve as a director on the board. "TGR Global", the key GM partner, owns Andretti Global.

Customer engine to start with (Ferrari expected) then works engine by "end of the decade". 2028 not specified.

A Bluesky exclusive (unless you follow me on Instagram or, extremely unlikely, the TikTok account I forgot I started months ago). Grateful for another Viaplay #F1 Podcast cameo this week - and my first attempt at speaking Swedish in public 🙈 🇸🇪

Better look at the end of season livery here. Evidence, not that much more was needed after a double podium in Brazil, that Alpine is finishing 2024 in a much better place than it started. Its livery early this year was very basic, partly because the car was so overweight.
