Early trackside impressions not to be read into too much beyond building an initial reference point for the week. I liked how the Red Bull looked, strong front end, especially being on a harder compound. Hamilton experimenting a little in the Ferrari, which looked good but not quite as consistent.

I’ve left food for Mrs Mitchell-Malm and our son, I’m on my way to Bahrain, and I’m rejoicing at having an empty seat next to me on the plane. Must mean #F1 is back!

An early look at the one-off Williams livery showcasing new title sponsor Atlassian although that's on an older car. The 2025 car will be revealed shortly. You can hear it in the background of the launch stream warming up ready for its shakedown.

Better look at the end of season livery here. Evidence, not that much more was needed after a double podium in Brazil, that Alpine is finishing 2024 in a much better place than it started. Its livery early this year was very basic, partly because the car was so overweight.
