Up above the Fog

What an opportunity to capture a fog inversion above the Firth of Forth. One of those moments where I wonder if I'll be that lucky again. If not, acht well im happy with this.

I spotted some low fog whilst travelling to visit family at the weekend. So i had to stop and fly the drone. What a moment to capture. The sun creeping through some moody clouds, really added to the scene.

A collection of images taken in the woods this week. I have always been drawn to how the trees converge in the sky. With the added golden leaves and light, slap on a wide angle and and get as wide as possible. Pretty sure there are all at 15mm. Taken on the #canonrf1530mm.

Hey, I captured this on Sunday morning. The sunrise was pretty incredible but I was drawn to the top down images of the patterns in the sand. I loved the blues from the little streams of water with a little hint of green from some seaweed at the top.

I do very much like zooming in and capturing the flow of water from a waterfall, followed by the swirls and bubbles at the bottom as the pair meet again.

The Lookout

Captured this rather moody scene at the weekend. This place was pretty dark and moody which was incredible. I kept wondering if I add the rail or not, but i did on this shot and I actually like it. Haunting feels.

Moody ramblings on Saturday, this is a dark mysterious place with a lookout towards 2 waterfalls along the river Devon, which is just outside the Crook of Devon. This is a dark, slightly haunting scene. Little touches of autumn but mostly dark greens which give it a dark feel.

Good morning folks, an image taken whilst up in Dunkeld a few weeks ago. I loved the way the river looks like Glass. There were plenty of leaves on the river, so i went with a long exposure to capture their movement.

Good day, folks, a last-minute minute sunrise jaunt on Sunday morning, and what a sunrise it was, too. The light was incredible, and the waves were incredible. It was exactly what I needed. Plus the beach all to myself.

Red sky in the morning is a shepherd's warning i was always told. To be fair it did rain soon after. The sky was red, the waves were big and fluffy beasts, the bass rock sticking out nicely at this scene at Seacliff Beach. What a morning.

Good day folks, a quick phone edit of an image taken up in Dunkeld today. I love taking long exposures of the leaves floating by in the river. A wee bit of motion from the trees, but I dont mind that. These trees below still have a bit of changing to do.

As the sun sets on the Mirrorman sculpture up at St Fillans, overlooking Lochearnhead. The sun was lighting up the surrounding hills and the golden trees. The water looked calm due to long exposure, which has smoothen out the water ripples. The sun sparkling on the Mirrormans armour as the light begins to fade. With warming tones throughout the scene. It was a pure magical moment to be there.

More Fungai after my wander on Saturday. Love finding wee scenes with all the different mushrooms. Nothing beats the search for potentially shootable mushrooms whilst wandering through woodland in the Autumn.

End of Summer

With the summer feels almost gone, I popped down the coast last week and captured some seascape images from seacliff Beach looking over to bass rock. However, the blues gave it a summer feel, but it was still rather chilly.

These two images were taken on the same evening down in Gullane, slightly different shots, but it shows the difference a blast of light from the sun can do. I prefer the more blue toned one, but like both in their own way. Which is your favourite?

A coastal scene photographed in Gullane, no direct light, so there is a blue tone to the image. A lomg exposure was used to smoothen out the water over the loose stones, a wee hint of colour from some vibrant seaweed in the foreground. More drama to the scene due to a rather moody cloud band above. Which makes for a fairly dramatic seascape scene. A seascape image captured in Gullane, a small burst of golden light, has lightened up the scene overall. I used a long exposure to smoothen out the water over the rocks. It doesn't feel as dramatic to me as the blue toned previous version, but it is still a dramatic seascape capture.
