Thanks for posting this. Have seen dozens of films & documentaries and read loads of articles about 9/11 over the past 24 years. However, this is the first time I have come across this and something I had never considered until now, just how the people got off Manhattan.
On the anniversary of 9/11, I always post the epic story of the boats and ships that came to the aid in New York harbor.
The scene where the Coast Guard makes the call for assistance always sends a chill down my back.

Thanks for posting this. Have seen dozens of films & documentaries and read loads of articles about 9/11 over the past 24 years. However, this is the first time I have come across this and something I had never considered until now, just how the people got off Manhattan.

Hopefully Heljan will get in there with their new 153 which looks set to be altogether better than the red box outfit.
I bet #Hornby will announce a version some time. Perhaps not with the internal electronics, but the body mods, livery and cameras would be very doable for them.

Desperately sad to hear Johnnie Walker has died. Although we knew it was coming with his illness and recent retirement it's still a shock. Strange that I'm feeling so sad at the death of someone I've never met, almost as if he were family. Been a listener for 50 years though so in a way he was.
