The issue isn't the portion of America that is sane, the issue is that the portion that is currently in power. Even worse can come into power in the future if the Republicans don't clean out the Nazi-adjacent staffers which are a portion of their youth movement, which will be a threat to Canada.

Just wait 'til she asks for a piano that she can set on fire like in Holland, 1945.

To your point re: sources, this video from a session at UBCM is informative, in my view.

I believe that's what Brazil is doing, more or less. Allowing importation but requiring shift in manufacturing to their country.

I've been quietly advocating for a quota based system, and perhaps income testing the quota.

Minimizes overlap with existing market, provides benefit for a lot of service workers and other medium to lower income households.

It would be a pain and a half to administer, though.

I'd prefer it if the federal government said that Alberta oil and Saskatchewan potash can be subject to export taxes in a trade war with America as a prerequisite for the pipeline to be considered by the federal government.

Thank goodness they approved it. If look at who benefits, it's worth a compromise on aesthetics if someone dislikes multifamily.

The total number between Biden and Trump are roughly similar, the disparity is with the Supreme Court.

Around Cache Creek it might work well.

My neck of the woods, well. Not so much.

I remember a map in the Economist, and Vancouver Island is about the worst place in the world for solar. It's still more clean power in the end, so it's not a waste. But industrial scale = Cache Creek imo.

I have to admit, "'Hidden gem' is a shrug in article form" is a hell of a good line.
