'Macbeth' is about the limits of ambition and chasing desire into self-destruction. What this movie presupposes is, "What if Macbeth was doing it all for a bunch of empty corridors?

I just got out of prison. Been in since 1964 for giving The Who these haircuts.

Air purifiers in Finnish daycare reduced children's illnesses by 18% in a carefully controlled study. This implies huge potential for better public health and cost savings from sick leaves, with a simple intervention against airborne infections.

This is a very odd book. It is also a very, very good book.

My heart is still with Ang Lee's gorgeous and heartbreaking wuxia, which is also a story of unrequited love made impossible by social pressures and misplaced sense of duty. Also it has badass action sequences and sly feminist theory.

Did you mean "not allegory"? Terrifying on a whole other level. Soul-shivering to think about truly unlimited power in the hands of a person with a grudge. AND it's pretty funny the more I think about it. Classic Black Mirror.

What strikes me each time I see this (outside of the incredible depiction of the inescapable forces of our universe) is how every tiny character is so perfectly defined. Everyone who speaks a word in this movie is coming from somewhere. I know so much about them. It's really genius.

'Election' only becomes more original to me as time marches on. It's a True Epic, in that it can jump anywhere at any time.
