@councilormorillo.bsky.social can we ban plastic junk mail in the city? This is crazy for something that will only be useful for 30 seconds and isn’t recyclable

I can’t help but think that this take from @nytimes.com misses the point by a mile - this frames it as a simple difference of opinion, not the very real bodily harm that the killer experienced at the hands of UHC. Also framing this as “political violence” feels overly reductive

Late (but also early, bc I'm at the airport) to this discussion about why Silicon Valley turned right. I appreciate Henry's discussion of ideologies, but I think a lot of it boils down to a simple thing (with his story): the pettiness of plutocrats 1/ www.programmablemutter.com/p/why-did-si...

This podcast, an incredible piece of journalism, is a hard listen. It led to the arrest of the man who murdered a young antifascist activist. The power of this story lies in the people it lifts up. The heartbreak of what to do in the face of violence. 1/
I've seen a few think pieces along the lines of "where are the protests?" since the election.

I helped produce and write a podcast about the Trump era protest scene in Portland through the lens of a young man who died here.

It's no surprise to me people aren't super eager to revisit that.
