Biggest downside to employment: your employment is dependent on your relationship with your manager, their manager, and so on. If any of them are demanding or unreasonable, then it’ll be a difficult battle and require patience and wise push backs.

Wondering if there is ever a blueprint for a large organization. As in, an organization will create a blueprint of itself, and if another organization wants to copy its ways, it can model itself after it. If something like this exists, what would it be called?

How far can you get just solving technical problems? Or at some point do you have to start looking at the entire picture of your business and see where the leverage points are. And somehow affect change.

How to be more productive at your day job: measure the amount of time spent on direct work. Lowest hanging fruit and you might be surprised. Increase this amount to a reasonable level.
