I stopped by the capsule towers a few times while living in tokyo...it still looked wild in person but a little run down (perhaps that's why they took it down)

moma has an exhibition about the tokyo capsule towers that got taken down a couple years ago. and a super cute stacking blocks game to go along with it :D store.moma.org/products/blo...

I recently replaced my old reading pillow from high school with the Casper backrest pillow. I’m not usually one to promo stuff but this pillow is amazing for reading in bed (and also feeding a baby!)

I checked out Books of Wonder for the first time today, the oldest independent children's book store in NYC. Such a cool shop. I like how they organized books by concepts.

Random food memory-anyone remember these mochi slabs that you’d bake?

So I know muji has an insulated plastic bottle water holder which makes sense given the popularity of vending machines in Japan. Has anyone made a similar insulated container for takeout bubble tea? www.muji.us/products/kee...

- chinese bakery risoprints from FIYE. my favorite is the hot dog bun pastry, which I unexpectedly missed eating when I was pregnant! they slot into these very cute frames that look like the trays you get in chinese bakeries.

- ghibli inspired postcards (spirited away and kiki's delivery service) from jackie zhu from the lucky risograph stand

- this memo book of ming inspired fashion illustrations from sarula bao who has created very cool covers for the new yorker (and the first riso cover for them)

I got to go to the Printed Matter Art Book Fair today (first time I went to an event in the city after having a baby!). Since I had been in 2018 and 2019 when I previously lived in the city, it was awesome to get to experience it again at MOMA PS1.

biking through central park always feels surreal - amazing to see the city skyline in the middle of the park

added to the clock collection with a Hay clock (Jasper Morrison). I like how the face is nice and big and easy to read, but the build quality is not as high as I was hoping (very plasticky feeling)

I always wondered what made some nuts fancy, but only looked it up now. According to the usda, it comes down to size and grade. I find the notion of quantifiable fanciness to be amusing

the best I ever saw was skylight where one of their employees created handdrawn book covers that were on their homepage. it really gave their website a handcrafted feel.

I know indie bookstores use the same platform to make their lives easier, but it's kind of a bummer to see every bookstore have the same carousel UI on every site.

on the site, you can look up publishers and their guidelines for getting approved for advance copies - for example, this is a detailed one from knopf, which basically wants it to be clear you are a literary influencer

Never had a need for the shortcuts app previously but started creating some simole ones to add custom audio commands. So far I have to connect to my external speaker and play music, one to open an app, and one for unit conversion
