Take care of yourself, looking like 6"-10" for me.

#ParkChat friends, please avoid I80 and I90 this weekend.

A significant winter storm is likely to impact portions of the Northern Plains, Upper Midwest, and Great Lakes beginning Friday through this weekend, which will impact post-Thanksgiving travel.

Part of me wants to see them try and accidentally cause the whole mountainside with all faces to crash down.

Living here in Iowa--recommend postponing or taking a southerly route if heading farther west. That map only shows chance of more than 6"; actual forecast for Des Moines is 9"-14".

Snowplows wont keep up and first major storm of the year means bad driving.

He's been to Mount Rushmore Natl Monument (and wants his face added).

But, if I live in Toledo and can't afford the trip out West, I could venture to Cuyahoga.

Why mess around with tax credits, just fund the Parks and implement timed reservations where crowds are a problem.

A5. From Iowa, the "best" sites are more than a quick reset trip. We have a local recreation trail that we walk several times per week.

A3. Choices are limited here in Iowa. We pick a local city or county park to #OptOutside in black Friday.

A2. Having Jack Gladstone as the campfire program in our 1998 trip to Glacier NP. Wasn't planned from our end, completely coincidental. So much history in an entertaining musical performance. It reached my mother, who stated she felt "a little guilty" afterwards.

A1. I am a fan of the classic Pumpkin pie with a single spoon of whipped cream. My wife goes for her mother's chocolate pie. #ParkChat

✅ Reduce Funding
✅ Raise Prices
🟩 Watch visitation fall
🟩 Watch revenue fall
🟩 Sell off lands

Potential outcome?

$80 is a value, but raising it will price some people out and these are public lands.

Perhaps people who can't afford a big Western park trip would visit Parks near their home area.

The data center developers should be required to do rooftop solar and/or localized wind to provide their own electricity (or at least mitigate a large portion) AND the water use needed for cooling should have mitigations to repurpose the lost heat.

Turned out it was on defeating the public lands sell off in the Big Bad Bill. It ignored attempts to repeal the Roadless Rule and the nomination of a BLM director in Steve Pearce who wants to sell off public lands as well as the push to extract at every turn. flatheadbeacon.com/2025/11/23/m...

I've been anxious for the ferry schedules to be finalized... I took a chance booking before knowing for sure; but, I searched for availability around Christmas last year and most dates were full. #ParkChat
