"But how can he be a good, stealthy secret agent if he's famous in the spy world?!?"

You generally don't send Bond to do super clandestine work. He's a human cruise missile that you point at a problem when the clandestine problem-solving options have already failed.

Indeed. Gotta just take it as a sliding timeline, especially since they rarely reference what year it is in-narrative.

And if folks can't role with five actors playing the exact same lead character across 40 years? Well, that's just their problem, not the franchise's.

That's my other big nitpick. Contrary to what some ramble about online, there is an on-going continuity between the original 20 Bond films. All five actors play the exact same career in a sliding narrative timeline running from 1962 to 2002. It's easy to find if one actually bothers to look.

Yep. She played two completely different Ms in two different, unconnected Bond series.

I guess I count that more as being an epilogue to his initial fame run (1998-2007). BUNRAKU is one of the lone bright spots of his career in the dark years of 2008-2013.

It's certainly a film more should seek out.

(TRAP does still fucking rock though, just so we're clear.)

Something that will never actually get made.

Righto! There's always the chance that our dream projects like this can evaporate at the last minute, so I rejoice every time one officially gets rolling!

From what I gather, Broccoli & Wilson were embarrassed by the show and effectively buried it. That said, now that EON no longer controls the franchise, this show will eventually see a proper home video release. At least on streaming, if not eventually on disc as well. Amazon will want that money.

Setting aside the fact that I'm 99% sure that the article in question is completely bogus...

You don't even want to know the amount of people that I have come across that think the Craig films ARE a part of the original Bond continuity, solely because Dench is in them. It's an embarrassing amount.

I am really interested in checking out the MGM+ horror series FROM. I've read nothing but good things about it. The problem is that nearly every other show that exists on MGM+ looks like a joke to me - especially this one - meaning that I have no real desire to spend my money on a subscription.

Made even more hilarious by the fact that TEEN TITANS GO TO THE MOVIES cracked an Alfred spinoff joke *before* this show was made. WB TV actually turned parody into reality and then ran it for multiple seasons on a streaming platform that no one I know subscribes to.

Seriously, if a piece says "writers" when there is only one writer on the project...then states "insiders say" and follows it with nothing but bits of officially-announced public knowledge...it is full of shit and should be entirely ignored.
November 11, 2025 at 6:27 PM
SUPREMELY dumb. A nothingburger of a piece with vague meaningless quotes (and bad reporting) meant to ragebait fans on a slow news day.
November 11, 2025 at 6:20 PM
There's no "they". It's bad clickbait journalism, likely using a made-up insider quote to goose views on a slow news day. And probably piggy backing off of the Soderbergh Star Wars drama at that.

BRB gonna write a spy adventure titled "Codename: Jesus Christ".

Also: “James Bond is a code name” is a lazy and “continuity-first” retcon patch job that just doesn’t hold water. James Bond is James Bond, the son of Andrew Bond and Monique Delacroix Bond, and has been one character for 70+ years. Just tell a good story between the titles. It’s not a soap opera.
