"President of what?"
This is amazing.
Absolutely howling at this track a dad left his daughter on a random and bizarre mix tape he made for her before he died.

Come for the vocals; stay for the final line 🤣 what a wonderful gift to leave her and what a wholesome reaction!

Maintaining a transphobic line as an institution is indicative of other problems that institution may not be so eager to advertise.

After 44 years, we'll finally be handed another Superman movie where the main villain isn't either Lex Luthor or General Zod.

(Justice League is a big team-up flick, so it doesn't count.)
Brainiac will reportedly be the main villain in 'Man of Tomorrow'

Superman and Lex Luthor will team up to fight him

Watching RETURN OF THE FLY for the first time.

I now understand why the lyrics to the Misfits’ song about this film are just a repetition of the title and names of actors in it.

I know it's not the point of Avishai's post here, but having read TOUR OF DEVASTATION, one of you out there should really make it into a movie. It's great.

As is CHARADES.

Honestly, just buy up a bunch of Avishai's scripts and go to town. You won't be sorry!
In 2024, I wrote a script called TOUR OF DEVASTATION. It’s about grappling with powerlessness in the face of enormous disaster, and that sense that the things we have today can fall away from us at any moment without warning. Been thinking about it a lot lately.

Okay but also there’d better be some coolass monsters in here.

Like, sure, wow, what an achievement.

But there’d better be monsters.

Christopher Nolan revealed that much of the two million feet of film shot for The Odyssey was on the open ocean, saying, "We got the cast who play the crew of Odysseus’ ship out there on the real waves, in the real places."

I'm actually looking forward to this but it's amazing how some filmmakers can get away with their films looking grey and colorless and others the pitch forks come out. Nolan can make an ugly ass looking movie too and call him out for it.

TIL there's a lost Corey Haim film called SHOOTER ON THE SIDE. I know experts like @bradfhenderson.bsky.social will remind me that there are hundreds of "lost" movies, but having no copy of a film from 1996 just seems wild to me.

The tentacled kaiju in this teaser looks like a cross between the one in the animated SKULL ISLAND miniseries and the one in DEEP RISING.
The first teaser for #MonarchLegacyOfMonsters Season 2 teases King Kong, the arrival of a tentacled new Titan, and the return of Kurt Russell's Lee Shaw.

The MonsterVerse spin-off returns to Apple TV on 27 February, 2026.

It's honestly going to be very hard for whomever succeeds him as Disney CEO in 2027 to be worse.

Just so we're clear...

"James Bond" is not a codename.

James Bond is his real name. The one he was born with.

007 is his codename. Other agents had it before him and others will eventually have it after him.

(There are also generally a dozen 00s in operation at any given point in time.)

PENNY DREADFUL S2 just ticks all of my boxes. It might not be the "best" single season of TV that I love, but it's probably my favorite.

(Also, the Hartnettaissance began here, not with TRAP.)

Also: “James Bond is a code name” is a lazy and “continuity-first” retcon patch job that just doesn’t hold water. James Bond is James Bond, the son of Andrew Bond and Monique Delacroix Bond, and has been one character for 70+ years. Just tell a good story between the titles. It’s not a soap opera.
