Adding an Evan Solomon definitely muddies the correlation vs causation argument re: the bubble bursting

I just did the math.
“The billionnaire, who as a percentage of income has contributed what would be the price of a medium Tim’s coffee for the median Canadian income earner..”

Understandable, really, as both gave about 20 years of service before meeting their sorry ends

Sometimes I see people like 20 tweets deep into an argument with Grok. Like, what are you doing brother? You are trying to win an argument with a vending machine.

…says the person who didn’t have to sit through Miss Glaves trying to ram a music catalogue that was clearly better suited to a grade 1 level into the ears and hearts of the grade 6 gifted class.

I tried to search for it so you could experience mental pain from having to listen to it. I’ve failed, but every other song that popped up was somehow worse, so there’s that,I guess?

Try as I might to forget the entirety of my grade 6 elementary school music curriculum, I sadly still recall being subjected to a song that had “Run Terry Run” as the chorus. My days in grade 6 predate the release of Forrest Gump by about a decade.

Even die-hard fans of a sports team are smart enough to boo when the team sucks.

In the aftermath of Mamdani’s victory in NY, I’ve seen several people point out that politics can either be a team that we pick, or a thing that we do. The Conservative leadership is very firmly in the former camp, and it’s antithetical to making any progress on anything.

I’m aghast at “main entrance is in darker coloured part that’s set back from sidewalk and recedes from view, and not under giant 3 story white arch thing that almost literally encroaches on it”

Eating the burger for you was part of the service, and now they don't even do that anymore...

Also, I've an insatiable hunger and/or thirst for a cchinga now.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that entirely, but I'd absolutely agree with the idea that the key to a successful life is having *some* goals so low you can trip over them. It frees you to set higher goals elsewhere.

Shouldn’t there at least be a donkey?

It would explain the slop we’re surrounded by, at least

Jerry Boyle and Tim MacMillan were such brilliant characters.

Well there's a back story I never knew until just now.

For goodness sake, we all know that Vincent Price was the guy who closed the show on The Hilarious House of Frightenstein.

The castle lights are growing dim...

Two races ago I’d have thought the odds were pretty long on them screwing it up. I don’t think that any more.

I should also be asleep, but explaining daylight savings time to our highly anxious and *very* routine driven dog was a hill too steep to be worth climbing.
November 2, 2025 at 10:10 AM
We have just closed up shop after having 4 kids show up and not seeing anybody on the street. The stress on the dog wasn’t worth it.

I’d leave mine, but my mower has a bagger and I have a need for some chopped up organic material to make some lasagna beds over the winter
October 31, 2025 at 10:45 PM
For sure. The way to avoid the need for a curfew is to make sure that people have places to go and things to do when they get there, and we don’t do that nearly as broadly as we should.
October 31, 2025 at 10:39 PM
I will probably need to mow mine one more time, which would make more cuts in November than I made in August.
