We repeated with Kf6 Rf7+ Kg7 Re7 here, but the computer points out a line here where I could go Rc3+ Kf2 Rf3+ followed by Rf8, and he can't actually take the e pawn after that because Kf6 traps the rook. I don't know if I could have won if I saw that, but it was a chance to try and press a bit

The position is objectively equal now, but I like the sequence I found here with Ra2+ Kf3 Rxh2 Bd7 and Rc2! at the end, basically forcing the c pawns off the board or a repetition because of Bxc6 Be2+ followed by Rxc5

We eventually reached this position, where I am slightly worse but holding. I blitzed out Bb3 Rd6 Ba4 here as I thought I needed to defend the c6 pawn this way. The computer points out here that Ra4 Rxc6 Rb4 is a more active way to hold onto the position, with e4 and b2 pawns both being targeted

In round 4 I was playing against a 2280. My instinct was to take on b2, but after Bd4 I couldn't find a response I really liked. I had tried to make c5 work, but Rb1 and Nb5 is crushing for white. I had missed that e5 Bxe5 leaves the bishop undefended and I would be able to continue playing normally

Round 3 was the most frustrating game for me. Black against a 2050, I was putting pressure but he had defended accurately up to this point when he played h4. I saw f5+ Kd4 f4, and after Ke3 I need to play gxh4 gxh4 Ke5 to win. I then mixed up the lines and played gxh4 in response to Kd4 and we drew

This is the critical point of the game. Black needs to go Bxf6, which I was expecting and follow it up with Bxf6 e5, trying to free up his position. The position would remain complicated but better for black. He went Bd8, and after Be4 the position is busted as there is no defense to the kingside

This was the idea I had seen when i went for Nxf7, and it isn't the best. I should have brought in more pieces with Rae1/h4 and since black is mostly stuck, he can't do much. But I was too focused on trying to justify the sacrifice immediately and tunnel visioned into this plan

In round 2 I was up against a 2000 who had misplayed the opening, which caused me to tunnel vision a bit trying to punish his bad setup on the spot. The sacrifice is sound, but I needed to follow it up with a bit more slow play than trying to knock him out immediately, which was the mindset I was in

After Qxe6 Qxa8+ Ng8 Qe4, I resorted to tricks with Qg6 which in time pressure he blundered with Rxe1 allowing Qxg3 and I won shortly after. If he had gone Qxe1, after Nxg3 white is better, but it remains complicated.

Continuing to not see my opponent's resources, later in the game I had managed to come out better, and was looking for the finishing touches. I played Be1 trying to provoke g4 Nh4, or else I take on g3. My opponent down to about 30 seconds hit me with Re6! which shook me.

Round 1 against a 1900, I misevaluated the position out of the opening and once I realized that I might be in some trouble, I started to create some complications. My plan here was cxd3 Nb3, but he hit me with Bg4! which I had not expected at all. I need to work on finding resources for my opponents
