I live for my family, my friends, people with love in their heart, good books, wine, and of course, the uisge beatha. Slainte!
I often wonder where the climate would be and where renewables would be had he won. That's an alternate timeline I'd love to be able to see.

Bring it on.

God, I love your grumpiness. It beats even that of my 85 year old, New Hampshire Dad. Warms my heart.

Literally what the ever loving F is their obsession with Ibuprofen? Is this really a hill to die on? Are there not other, more important, things to worry about like people starving or people losing their health care in general?

Those Bucks County wins didn't get a lot of attention but should have. That's a big flip.

Sounds so horrible, but is it politically better to cave, get govt. open, take credit for that, show discussions on ACA never happened as promised (because they won't), that rising premiums, unaffordability, and hunger were all due to Party that has no intent to discuss real topics about real life?

Since the election, the argument I've had most often with MAGA has been "the majority of Americans voted for this" and my point has been 49.8 % itself is not a majority, and 1/3 of voters sat this one out, so he didn't even carry a majority of eligible voters. Did he win? Yes. A majority? F, no.

At least some leader has the spine to stand up for what's right.

Who could have imagined that?

Millions of people marching show us that, at least currently, apathy has not rooted itself. We'll need that to hold and expand in numbers to ensure this great experiment survives.

80/20 in general, 50/50 in select locations.

Historically speaking, when authoritarian regimes finally fail, and the fever burns itself out, do those who perpetrate the slide face legal consequences? Or does history prove out that their actions are overcome, maybe not forgotten, but moved on from without anyone being held liable?

How does someone run for office?

I would hope. But I don't hold a lot of faith. 2A is a reality. I'd just like to see steps taken to say, "own what you want, but here's the responsibility that comes with that." Two-way street, I'll respect ones desire to feel safe owning, and they respect my desire to feel safe while not owning.

Embrace 2A as foundational, in exchange for personal licensing, renews every 3 years. Mandatory safety training every 5 years. Commerce only through licensed, trained, insured dealers who renew every 5 years, and personally, if not stored safely and one's gun used in crime, one can be held liable.

Noy encouraged by the "About Right" number. 40+% of the country remains comfortable with what he's been doing. That's disappointing.

I guess we're just supposed to "eat gold".
September 28, 2025 at 11:45 PM
What disturbs me almost as much is that everyone stands there taking pictures, and no one intercedes. We all need to start standing up for each other and calling out things that are wrong, even if that puts us at risk. We only have each other.

He's going to let them invade.

I think the thing many of us forget, for those that follow politics, the goings on in the political spectrum, and like to debate politcal philosophies, is a majority of voters don't think about tents, care about tents, or even acknowledge tents exist. They're busy just trying to exist.
September 24, 2025 at 6:33 PM
That is true.
September 23, 2025 at 6:16 PM
Well, the experiment was good while it lasted.
