Can you imagine a similar headline in #Edinburgh?

It would be “controversial bike lanes disliked in consultation by locals”

Truly one of the saddest stories I’ve read this year. And entirely preventable. Only allowed to happen because our gov is too weak to limit drivers freedoms.

Current gov explicitly refused to implement graduated licences which would have prevented this tragedy.

Why was #CelebrityTraitors one big SUV ad?!

SUVs like the Defender are three times more likely to kill a child under 10 in the event of a crash, compared to a small car.

This form of advertising needs challenging. #AirPollution #RoadDanger

The official investigation into the January 6 riots concluded Trump “summoned the mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack" in an effort to halt the peaceful transfer of power.

No billion dollar lawsuit can change reality.

The BBC should call this convicted criminal’s bluff.

@drscottarthurmp.bsky.social @cllrconorsavage.bsky.social as my MP and councillor, what can we do about the promotion of illegal violence being promoted in our local newspaper?

@stephenjenkinson.bsky.social this feels wrong.
The Edinburgh Evening News printed these lines on a story about antisocial bike use.

‘police were allowed to run them off the road. Better still if other road users were allowed to do it’

I don’t think this is acceptable. The normalising, publishing, promoting of illegal acts towards a group.

@policescotland.bsky.social @snp.org is there ANYTHING you can do about this?

Maybe trying more than asking for dashcam footage?

If developments in the United States take a more radical and violent turn then you can now pretty much guarantee that the BBC will only report the full extent of these escalation spirals long after their consequences have become too obvious to play down.

Apparently in this story there were ZERO drivers in the car. The car crashed. No driver involvement.

But there were two occupants of the car. Mysterious.

Maybe there are good reasons why the BBC are not trusted.

Let me sum up the new "everything else seems old fashioned" campaign from BYD: Cars are cool everything else isn't. (breakthrough stuff here 🙄)

The only thing more old fashioned than riding a horse is positioning a car as the better way forward.

Car brand BYD's new SUV ad pokes fun at people walking and cycling, comparing them to Horse & Carts.

It joins a long list of car ads that sell a false promise of convenience and aspiration while punching down at sustainable transport modes.

So I made it a bit more realistic...
