I interviewed Australian mining billionaire Clive Palmer on his once-more-revived plan to build Titanic II, a functional and historically accurate replica of the original ship. He now says it will be a “vaccine-free environment.”

the private equity acquisition process where they take out huge loans to buy a company, put those loans on the company’s balance sheet and liquidate the company to pay them off (while looting the assets) should be made illegal

it is a purely destructive process and it’s absurd that we allow it
Just got a news alert saying Joann Fabrics is going into bankruptcy due to decreasing demand.

Article fails to say that it was purchased by a private equity firm a while ago and recently went public and is carrying $2.4 billion in debt.

Private equity strikes again.

Nerds are the ones who warned you about cryptocurrency, and NFTs, and the internet of things. Nerds are the ones trying to explain to you that "AI" is just overhyped pattern recognition which we already had for years.

Techbros are not nerds. They're predators.

Did you know Matt Berry, of What We Do in the Shadows, has a prog rock about badgers where he does spoken word poetry about their ways?

You need to listen to it.

It is deeply fucked up to act like fascism is not ascendent in the US. Brownshirts are beating people on national television, the president runs border concentration camps and wants to mass deport. We are IN IT. Stop strategizing ten steps behind the state of the world as it is.
