So proud of these brilliant women speaking out on behalf of families and children in poverty. They’ve been giving evidence to Stormont’s Communities Committee. Their challenge - why are children here being left behind compared to rest of UK. (Atlas Women’s Centre/ Women’s Support Network / NIAPN)

It was brilliant to participate in today's conference and roundtable on International Humanitarian Law with Irish Red Cross. Really timely discussion in the face of increasing violations of IHL and erosion of norms - with children paying a particularly devastating price.

Stormont's consultation on its draft Anti-Poverty Strategy ends tomorrow & there can only be one logical outcome. A total rewrite! 75 orgs who work with the most disadvantaged children reject it! Surely these calls, informed by real lives & rising hardships, can’t be ignored?🧵

Big shout out to this bunch of young superstars who have raised almost £2k for our Gaza appeal by completing a sponsored run at Stormont. Some ran 3k, some +4k and the rest in between! They smashed it & have raised vital funds for children in Gaza who devastatingly continue to suffer so much.

We’re at @ShankillWomens talking about Stormont’s draft Anti-Poverty Strategy. Women Support Network & Dr Ciara Fitzpatrick leading the conversation. Some views here: “It’s a total insult & shows a lack of engagement.”/ “They can’t tell us a route out of poverty.”/ “Did they meet ordinary people?”

Earlier in the year we told you about our #Listen2Learn project where 70 children from 6 schools told us what helps them learn & grow. Now we’ve gone back to work with the young people & co-produce a child friendly version of our report. We can’t wait to see what they create!
