Also, how fucking insane is it that Jeffrey Epstein found Donald Trump so morally repugnant he emailed evidence of his OWN CRIMES to the New York Times to stop his presidential run and the NYT just ignored them?

JEFFREY EPSTEIN had stronger convictions than the NYT.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

I’m telling you: ridicule works. These guys are supposed to intimidate the citizenry and it’s very hard to do that when a guy in a frog suit is just staring you down and daring you to do something that makes it look like you’re afraid of a cartoon

I think it's really worth noting that this concentration camp was opened one month and three days ago.

This woman saw enough horror in that time to quit and tell the public what she saw.

Which suggests that it's not as bad as we think, or as bad as we can envision from her description—it's worse.
A former “Alligator Alcatraz” worker says detainees are subject to “inhumane” conditions — packed by the hundreds into cages without sunlight, with overflowing toilets and limited access to showers.

In an exclusive report, NBC6 spoke with a former corrections officer who says she saw hundreds held in cages with no sunlight, backed up toilets and little access to showers.

To reiterate:

* Mastercard maintains a set of "Standards" for adult content
* Those "Standards" are not publicly available whatsoever
* The "Standards" for adult content are *separate* from applicable law
* Therefore, Mastercard does in fact have restrictions on the sale of adult content

Need to cheer myself up so here's the best Twitter post ever. It spawned one billion bad ripoffs but it's a beautiful magic trick. You don't just read it in his voice: he said it now. This quote is real.

It is pretty noticeable that even as mainstream opinion on Israel and Gaza finally shifts, you don’t hear the Responsible Adults apologizing for punishing all the college kids protesting the atrocities. Quite the opposite in fact!

You're gonna have a hard time drawing imaginary lines to delineate who gets the brunt of a "justice" system ready and waiting for whoever the fuck the cops bring them. Perhaps we reconsider what we do with all of them and that way we don't have to worry so much when we get the wrong one.
Padilla: "If it was only going after dangerous criminals, there would be no debate. I agree with that. But the fact is the vast majority of those being detained are the same people who were deemed essential workers at the end of the first Trump administration during covid. That's a cruel irony"

We are dismantling American higher education & scientific research & health care & all the other things to fund concentration camps
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

Nashville! Go see this movie. It's an incredible sports film and a great character study as well, and it resonates powerfully with a lot of things that are going on in the world.
The first feature film co-directed by Israeli filmmaker
Guy Nattiv and Iranian filmmaker/actor Zar Amir (who also co-stars in the film), TATAMI opens this coming Fri, Jun 27 at the Belcourt > 🎟 bit.ly/Belcourt-TATAMI
Tatami is a sports corruption drama in the spirit of old "boxing noir" films and "Raging Bull," about an Iranian women's judo team competing with other national teams while Iran's government uses them as proxies in an ideological war. It's excellent. www.rogerebert.com/reviews/tata...

Parents, you are standing at a fork in the road right now.

If you buy your kids the Harry Potter video game, they'll grow up to be big maladjusted losers who only read bad YA fiction as adults, if you buy your kids Yakuza 0 they will grow up to own a cool jacket.

Remember this iconic photo from Ferguson? This is Edward Crawford, throwing back a tear gas canister to protect some nearby kids.

Like many identified Ferguson protesters and organizers, he was "found dead" a couple years later and neither the cops nor the media will ever investigate.
