honestly, same. 2000s frutiger aero aesthetics are nice, but vaporwave music and aesthetics still hit for me (when done properly and not mixed in with synthwave or generic 80s throwbacks, mind you)

having bullets despawn when an enemy is defeated is a nice touch, though. that's the one thing I wish other games in the series kept

whoever was on level design apparently thought having to constantly slide under spikes and enemies not waiting for the screen transition to finish were good ideas, apparently

it's a shame, too, because I really like some of the robot master designs, and there are some genuinely cool concepts
