The programmes were always short versions (hated that!) until 2000 when L&K was split across BBC ONE/TWO. That repeated for the Saturday Show and Dick and Dom until the permanent shift to BBC TWO at the start of 2006 when it was no longer an issue.

Yes, all very compact back then to squeeze in as much as possible, no option of transferring to BBC2.

Found the programme, it was on 26 February 2000. The section was called 'The Simpsons Super Challenge' - the ultimate winner got an original Simpson animation cell as well as a couple of drawings specially done by the animators.
